On the Road with Austin & Santino is a spin-off of the reality competition show, Project Runway. It features previous contestants, Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice. The odd couple travels the country searching for deserving women and girls who need a dress for an upcoming special occasion. Santino and Austin have been friends for years and apparently came up with the idea for the show. It premiered on the Lifetime network on Thursday, July 29, 2010.
On every episode the pair stays in local accommodations,not a hotel, and buy their materials at the local store rather than a chain. They are trying to soak up all of the local culture. Each episode ends with a big reveal at the customers big celebration. Previous special occasions include: anniversaries, birthdays, balls, graduations and bachelorette parties.
